Grassroots
Rape is a human issue; it is border-less and global. Rape is done by people to people—it is an issue of human beings. For PERI people are the grass roots. Thus the pivotal body of work for many years for the Project for the End of Rape Inc (PERI) is at the grassroots level of the world and society. Our strategy is to mobilize the people of the world to declare the end of rape as an idea whose time has come.* People are the change agents, they make things happen. People are the problem and they are the solution. As our thinking becomes new our attitudes change and we can't help but bring our leadership and actions onto the purpose line of that new way of thinking.
One of PERI's first steps must be to mobilize the people of the world—not the organizations, the people. People are the only ones who can make a difference; they are the problem and the solution; they are the change agents. People will bring their personal leadership to this issue of rape; they will change their thinking and their attitudes, and they will bring their actions into line with that new way of thinking.
There is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come
